STANAG

The STANAG panel is used to configure various communication messages, which represent the primary protocol for the autopilot's interactions. This interface allows the user to integrate specific messages one by one, making the process completely transparent within the firmware.

Message Types and Limits

The configuration supports both predefined and highly flexible custom structures:

  • Fixed Standard Messages: There are six primary configuration blocks that are typically configured once each.

  • Custom STANAG Messages: Users can add up to 40 custom messages, labeled sequentially as "Custom STANAG message (x)".

  • Configurable Messages: Users can configure STANAG messages as custom messages, manually integrating those of interest.

When selecting a custom or configurable message, the user must define a specific vector containing:

  • Message Properties: The message type, the STANAG message ID, and the size of the presence vector.

  • Presence Vector Value: Required specifically for tx or periodic message types.

  • Sub-vectors: Within the main vector, up to 5 sub-vectors can be added to configure:

    • Frequency: For periodic messages.

    • Trigger ID: For RX messages that must trigger another message type upon receipt.

    • FMSet Reference: The ID of the associated fmset.
